Meet Dr. Larissa Bishop and Dr. Rebecca Vander Baan — co-owners of this independent, family-owned practice — dedicated to bringing exceptional dental care to Grandville families without corporate interference.
As co-owners of Grandville Dental Health Center, Dr. Bishop and Dr. Vander Baan share a vision: to deliver exceptional, patient-centered dental care to the Grandville community. Together they bring decades of combined experience and a genuine commitment to treating every patient like family.
Dr. Larissa Bishop
Co-Owner & Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Larissa Bishop went to undergrad at Kalamazoo College, where she met her husband, and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, one of the top dental programs in the country. She has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years and has been an integral part of the Grandville Dental team since 2002.
Known for her gentle touch and meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Bishop has a particular passion for cosmetic dentistry and helping patients achieve the confident smiles they've always wanted. She takes a conservative approach to treatment, always exploring the least invasive options first. She is SPEAR trained and has served on numerous state dental association boards in addition to having served as president of the West Michigan District Dental Society. Dr. Bishop has also served as a product evaluator author for a dental publication the Dental Advisor since 2000.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bishop is an active member of her community and her daughters activities. She enjoys hiking the trails of West Michigan, golfing, skiing, and volunteers with local community health initiatives. She and her husband have three daughters, which gives her a deep personal understanding of the importance of family-centered dental care.

Dr. Rebecca Vander Baan
Co-Owner & Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Rebecca Vander Baan is a proud Grand Rapids native who has always felt a strong connection to West Michigan. After graduating from Calvin University, she earned her dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She practiced for several years on the east side of Michigan while her husband completed graduate school before returning home to West Michigan. Grandville Dental provided the perfect opportunity to serve the community she has always loved.
With 20 years of experience, Dr. Vander Baan is committed to providing thoughtful, comprehensive dental care tailored to each patient. She is SPEAR trained, having completed advanced continuing education focused on comprehensive, interdisciplinary dentistry, and has served multiple terms in the Michigan Dental Association House of Delegates. Her practice encompasses all aspects of general dentistry, including preventive, restorative, and cosmetic care. Patients appreciate her warm, unhurried approach and the time she takes to listen, answer questions, and thoroughly explain treatment options.
Outside the office, Dr. Vander Baan enjoys spending time with her husband, son, daughter, and their two Bernedoodles. She can often be found on the sidelines cheering on her kids at football, volleyball, and golf events. She also enjoys staying active outdoors, traveling, and cooking in her spare time.
