Dental Implants in Grandville, MI

Dental implants are the gold standard for replacing missing teeth. Unlike bridges or dentures, implants replace the entire tooth — root and all — providing a permanent, stable foundation that looks, feels, and functions just like a natural tooth.

About This Service

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone where the missing tooth root once was. Over time, the implant fuses with the bone through a process called osseointegration. Once healed, a custom-made crown is attached to the implant, completing the restoration.

Benefits

  • Permanent solution that can last a lifetime
  • Looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth
  • Preserves jawbone and prevents bone loss
  • Does not require alteration of adjacent teeth
  • Easy to care for — brush and floss like natural teeth

What to Expect

Implant treatment typically takes 3–6 months from start to finish. After a thorough evaluation, the implant is surgically placed and allowed to heal for 3–6 months. Once the implant has integrated with the bone, we attach the abutment and custom crown.

Common Questions

Dental Implants — Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Most adults in good general health with adequate bone density are candidates for dental implants. Certain conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes or active gum disease may need to be addressed first.

Does implant surgery hurt?

Implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, so you won't feel pain during the procedure. Some swelling and discomfort for a few days afterward is normal.

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The crown on top may need to be replaced after 15–20 years due to normal wear.
