To call our emergency dentists in Grandville, MI, dial (616) 531-0360. If no one answers, listen to the recorded message to learn your next steps.
Our emergency dentists often respond the same day in cases involving trauma and/or pain.
Here’s what you need to know about your next steps.
What Are Dental Emergencies?
Don’t ignore a! Call our office immediately if you have any of the following:
- Severe toothache
- Knocked-out tooth
- Loose permanent tooth
- A large chip or crack in the tooth causing pain
- Dental abscess (looks like a pimple on the gums)
- Bleeding inside your mouth that won’t stop
The sooner you call our dentists, the better your outcome. Our dentists always do everything in their power to save a tooth. Yet, you limit your treatment options if you wait too long to seek emergency dental care. For example, we may recommend a root canal if a cavity is deep enough to penetrate the dental pulp. The dental pulp is the innermost chamber of your tooth that’s made out of living tissue.
What Isn’t an Emergency?
- Mild toothache
- A small chip or crack in the tooth without pain
- Lost filling
- Lost crown
Recognize any of our non-dental emergencies listed above? Even if you don’t need, you’ll still need to schedule an appointment. For example, our dentists may need to replace a lost crown to restore your tooth. We’re usually able to fit you in our schedule within a few days for non-emergencies.
Aren’t sure if you have a dental emergency? Call our dental office anyways. Each patient is different, which is why it may help to talk to one of our front desk staff or dentists. They’ll be able to listen to your situation over the phone and determine if you need urgent dental care. They’ll also answer any questions you might have so you can plan your next steps.
